Information for investment professionals about data Persephone holds and how to exercise your rights.

What we hold and why

Persephone is an investor intelligence platform. We may hold information about you including your name, role, employer, professional biography, and links to publicly published professional content. This data is sourced from licensed third-party providers (Crunchbase and Apollo) and from public fund websites and publications.

We use this information to help startup founders identify investment funds whose stated thesis aligns with their startup. Our processing is fund-focused — we do not generate or store persistent psychological profiles of named individuals.

Our legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and other applicable data protection laws, you can:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Request that inaccurate data be corrected;
• Request erasure ("right to be forgotten");
• Object to our processing of your data, including profiling;
• Restrict our processing in certain circumstances;
• Receive your data in a portable format;
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

What happens next

• We acknowledge within 5 business days;
• We verify your identity to the minimum extent necessary;
• We action your request within one month (extendable by two further months in complex cases, with notice to you);
• Where the data was sourced from a third-party provider, we forward your request to that provider and confirm the action taken;
• We confirm completion in writing.

If you object or request erasure, we will remove your information from our enrichment database and add an internal suppression record so it is not re-ingested from upstream sources.

If you're not satisfied

You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. EU/EEA authorities are listed at edpb.europa.eu. The UK authority is the Information Commissioner's Office.
